One of my favorite things about Emily & Pip’s wedding day was how excited they both were, not just for the wedding itself, but for the chance to truly enjoy the day surrounded by the people they love.

From our first conversations, Pip made it clear he was looking forward to the celebration and counting down to finally getting to the reception with friends and family. It became a bit of a theme throughout the day. Even during portraits there were a few moments of “Okay… but when do we get to go celebrate?” and honestly, it made me laugh and made the whole day feel even more like them.

Their day took place at Somerville Elks Lodge, which created such a cozy setting for the celebration. One thing I especially loved was having access to both the indoor spaces and the outdoor grounds throughout the day. It gave us room for portraits while still keeping everyone close to the celebration and able to settle in comfortably. The open outdoor space created a relaxed atmosphere and gave us opportunities for portraits without ever pulling them too far away from the moments they were most excited to experience.

And I loved that balance.

They made space to slow down and capture portraits together while still carrying this excitement that kept building naturally throughout the day.

By the time the reception started, everything shifted into exactly what they had been looking forward to—good music, great company, and simply getting to be present with the people who mean the most to them.
